Life"s Lessons: The It's Over Edition

It's Friday!!!

FINALLY.

I was beginning to think that it was never going to get here..... But it arrived, as planned, and so Y'all know what that means....

1. This was the last week I had to go to the other store. I was a little sad leaving today. For all the whining I've done about the drive and the tiredness and stress, I am really, really going to miss those girls.

2. They're getting an amazing new store manager though, and I'm so happy about that. Plus, she's a friend of mine, which is extra awesome. I'm hoping this means no more crappy roommates for meetings and conferences.

3. So. Inventory... Not good. I went to work at 10 am. And got home at 4:10 am. The next day.

4. Also? The fact that it's taken all week to recover from this? Is a definite indication that I'm not as young as I used to be.

5. You know. Just in case the eye wrinkles didn't already explain that to me.

6. I'm taking a three day weekend so my husband and I can go see his family. I am so excited and it's going to be so much fun.

7. Except I forgot to call the vet to see if I could board Chloe.... So here's hoping they still have an opening.

8. She is not fun in the car Y'all.

9. I made Ninja cookies for inventory. They were amazing. Sadly, many were decapitated or ended up as amputees during transport. But a headless Ninja is still an awesome Ninja....

10. They have "N's" on them for the name of the store. Also, they have finger lights. Which is a really, really long story for another day Y'all.....

Have a very "Adele" weekend.....

One Is Silver; The Other Gold.....

I need new friends.

Not you guys, you guys are great.

But in real life, my friendships that don't live in the computer?

Struggle.

The always amazing Rach wrote this post last week, and it really made me begin to re- evaluate some of my friendships. Life has taken a toll on them, and I'm not great about their maintenance.

We've moved. A lot. We live far away from where we work and go to church. I live near freaks. I was stuck in the house for like 9 months. I work crazy, unpredictable hours, and it wears me out. The list of excuses I have is a mile long.

I don't want a million acquaintances, but a few more would be nice. I have a few close friends, but I want a local BFF.

I broke up with two friends in the last few months. One was just using me, and the other wasn't healthy for me. But losing those two friends has left a void and I'm a little on the lonely side. I want someone to meet for coffee or shopping. I want someone to pray with, and who gets me.

And as much as I heart all of you, I need to be able to see her, hug her, hear her laugh. So either I'm going to have to stop being a reclusive workaholic, or I'm going to have to move.

To one of your cities.

Which would officially make me a stalker.... And probably scare you before we can even get to Starbucks.

I still have hope that Adele will call....

But in the meantime, if you have any tips on meeting friends, let me know. I think it's going to be harder than finding a husband.....

Life's Lessons: Inventory Is Wearing Me Out Edition

Well friends.... It's Friday, and Y'all know exactly what that means.....

125px; width: 125px; color: black; background-color: white;">

Grab the button, link up your Life's Lessons post here or with the ever fabulous Rach, then try to check out what all the other linkers have learned this week!!

1. It's been kind of a long week. It hasn't been that difficult, but I haven't been sleeping that well. Which makes for a fairly scary drive to work. Thank goodness for those handy wake-up bumps on the side of the road.

2. Just kidding. I usually only hit those when I'm texting and trying to drink my Starbucks.

3. Seriously, just kidding... I save the texting for red lights.

4. I need some reading suggestions. I mean, not for this weekend, because I have the horrible-ness that is inventory. But for afterwards. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

5. So, I'm trying to be loyal to The Office. It's not good since Steve Carrell left. Like really, really not good. But still, I watch, in vain hopes of them getting it together and fixing it.

6. I think they should start by getting rid of James Spader. Just saying.

7. At my Store #2, there is a really, really smart girl that works there. She's like 12 and working on her Master's in Super Smart Girl Saving The World. I think she thinks I'm a moron.

8. It doesn't help that I think she thinks this, and so I get a little nervous around her and tend to babble.

9. Which doesn't really help me seem any smarter. Also, I realize that this is a completely childish reaction.

10. So today, I was trying to think of reasonable things to talk to her about during her seemingly endless four hour shift, when, blessedly, an Adele song came on. Because, let's face it. When it comes to Adele, I'm pretty much a world leading expert.

11. So I asked her if she likes Adele, and she was all like "um, no". And then she asked if I did, and I said "she's pretty much my hero". To which she replied..... "Oh, so you like Adele and Twilight".

12. Yes. Yes I do.

Have a great weekend Y'all!!!!

Life's Lessons: Spastic Edition

It's Friday, and you know what that means....

Grab the button, link up here or with the always awesome Rach
and share with us all what you've learned this week.
As a reminder, please link up to your specific post, and try to visit some other Life's Lessons links as well!!

1. I just spent an insane amount of time cleaning my bathroom and bedroom. Not because I was being extremely productive and thorough, but because they were that disgusting. Does anyone else wait until a room is clean before lighting a candle in it? Just me? Well that's fine. I just have this thing about not wasting a scent on a room that needs to be cleaned. It's like my little reward at the end....

2. Does anybody else not care that Beyonce had her baby this week? She bugs the be- Jesus out of me. Beyonce, not the baby. Not yet anyway. And seriously? She needed to rent out the entire wing or whatever of the hospital? You're not that important. Go put on some pants (it drives me crazy how she only ever wears leotards now. It's stupid.)......

3. I have been very randomly super hyper at work the last few days. I spent much of Wednesday night pretending the rolled up window banners were light sabers. Also, I devised a game of popping my gum as loudly as possible when customers walk by to see if they look in. This is what happens when the last sale of the day comes in at 3:50 pm, and the store is open until 9. That's a lot of customerless time to kill, Y'all.

4. The first person to mention that maybe customers aren't coming in because of the gum popping is off my friends list. For realz. With a "z", which totally makes it more serious.

5. I'm mildly obsessed with Ninjas. Like I kind of want to be one. I even have a Ninja Handbook. It's from Urban Outfitters, but it totally counts. I love the days when I wear leggings to work, because they are very Ninja- like. Seriously. You have so much freedom of movement in leggings.

6. I also tend to use "Ninja" as a verb. As in, "I am totally going to go over there and Ninja that window display". It basically means "to make awesome".

7. It's very possible that I have had too much caffeine today.

8. My associates and I also collectively made "Hollister" a verb. As in, "I need you to Hollister that table". Which roughly translates to: turn yourself into a folding beast and straighten up that table like a rock star. I hired a new guy, and he also works at Hollister; I think he appreciated the verb usage of the name. Or he's really scared and won't ever show back up to work in my store. Which is really too bad, considering he hasn't even seen my light saber show yet....

9. I was really worried about hiring a guy to work in the store, but he's pretty awesome, and seems to fit right in. Also, he's not a stupid Hollister pig, so that helps.

10. I have inventory next week, and I'll be pretty honest here.... In between prepping both stores to get ready, and then conducting the actual inventory, I'm not making any promises about whether or not I'll be blogging. Including my participation in next week's Life's Lessons. If anyone want to guest host for me, I'd be forever in your debt..... And just think how convenient it would be to have a Ninja owe you one.....

Have a very Ninja weekend Y'all!!!!

Also, "ninja" definitely works as an adjective....

So this isn't as good as the Adele versions (because she's pretty much the ultimate....) but it's my favorite cover of this song.... I love his versions of songs, and I'm going to one of his shows in March!!!

Life's Lessons: It's Baaaaccckkkkkk!!!!!

Well friends..... it's finally that time again.

After a long, long, long holiday break during which I still had to work Life's Lessons returns!!

Yay!

It's back, and it's better than ever.

OK actually, it's exactly the same.... Just grab the button, link up here or with Rach, and share with us all what you've learned this week!! Please sure to link up with specific Life's Lesson post, not just your general blog, and try to hop around and check out what the other linkers have learned.

Linkers is totally a word.

Shhhh. Is too.

1. I had goals for this blog in the past three weeks.

2. Instead of achieving any of them?

3. I took all three weeks off. I did not log in once.

4. I feel refreshed. I feel ready. I feel like I'm making a comeback.

5. I'm still managing two stores. It's not fun. I found out yesterday that I'll be doing this until February.

6. At the very earliest.

7. In other news? I have seriously jacked up my elbow.

8. I have no idea how, but it's so painful. I have a brace for it, but the brace is gigantic and ugly.

9. Good times.

10. I finally read Hunger Games. So good!

11. Not Harry Potter or Twilight good, but still excellent....

12. My Pinterest addiction has grown considerably.

13. As it grows, so does my craft supplies supply.

14. Hopefully this weekend, I can knock out a few of those projects.

15. Especially since three of them are overdue Christmas presents.

16. Because I'm classy like that....

17. Speaking of awesome?

18. When I Google "Adele"?

19. My blog shows up on the first page of search results. At least, it does on my computer. Are Google search results based on individual computers? Was that a dumb question?

20. Oh well, even if it is only on my computer, it's still a huge achievement in my opinion....

Have a Happy Weekend!!!
